New In The Booth: January 2013

Last weekend when I went to my booth, I had only sold $9...yikes! I knew I had to bring out the big guns, so I grabbed a fan and a typewriter that I had in storage and took them up to the booth. Hopefully the big ticket items will help raise my sales... When I checked on Saturday, I was up to $42 - hopefully I'll make my rent and not owe this month!

(If you're not familiar with how an antique mall works, typically the vendors pay a monthly rental fee and commission on top of that. I need to sell about $175 in order to make any kind of profit... I have a long way to go!)
Lots of bad iPhone photos coming up! :)

I found the entire Childcraft series from 1976 on Saturday! I was so excited - they are so fun! I also have 3 little horses right now, some fun crafty books and some really cool gold tights and blue tights. In the bottom photo, you can see all my little figurines - lots of owls! And then, the beautiful fan.

Two beautiful paint by numbers, some children's things, a crazy yellow manhead... and the typewriter I mentioned before... plus some afghans!

Lots of random things... I keep some papers and maps in this mustardy planter, and pile clutches into a green cosmetic case. In the bottom photo, lots of green things. :)

If you're in Nashville, come shop! The mall is at 654 Wedgewood Avenue and they're open Mon-Sat 10-5:30 and Sunday 1:30-5:30.

PS - Happy birthday to my sister-in-law Staci!!!

  1. January has started off VERY slow here too! BOOO!

  2. Your pictures look great - lots of cute stuff, including all the sweet owls and horses and I really like the green vignette. And that fan - oh, jealous!

  3. Your booth looks great as always! That red bird painting is calling to me like a siren.

  4. I know what you mean. My month started off quite well. Praise God. Rent alone can be a killer, but when you add the 10% commission on top of that it can really hurt. And at times you wonder just who you are working for.

Sales will pick up. It's an ongoing roller-coaster ride.

  5. the fan is beautiful!
I love seeing pics of your booth. :)
