Owl Really Shoppers: Beatrix's Nursery Featured on On To Baby

I met Jennifer of Jennifer Hamilton Events last year when I was trying to pursue freelance wedding work. We met for coffee and had so much to talk about. During the conversation, we realized that she often shopped my booth at the Tennessee Antique Mall!

Fast forward to earlier this year when Jennifer and her husband had a baby - a beautiful little girl named Beatrix. Jen let me know that she bought a pillow from my booth that she was using in her daughter's nursery and that the nursery would be featured on On To Baby!

The nursery is absolutely beautiful and it feels like a great honor to have contributed just a tiny bit to it!

See the feature (and more photos!) here!

Some Cute Things at 8th & Argyle

**Once again, thank you to my blog friends that faithfully leave me comments. I am the worst blog friend ever and I'm so bad at commenting and replying to comments. Thank you for not giving up on me or getting fed up with me. I really appreciate it! I'm trying to get better about replying and commenting! I have no excuse other than my days are packed and I squeeze writing a quick blog post in whenever I can and then I forget to go back to them. I promise I'm not a blog snob or anything like that!

I mentioned yesterday that everyone else at 8th & Argyle is like leagues above me in terms of merchandise and staging. Here are examples!! Everyone has such great stuff!

Owl Really at 8th & Argyle

Wellllll, over the weekend I set up at 8th & Argyle! I feel like a total rookie there. Everyone's space is so well-put-together and I feel like mine is a crazy, kitschy mess. It's way more playful than most of the other spaces - even though people have REALLY cute stuff!

Stuff! Lots of stuff. I have this set of shelves and then I can use the space underneath them, as long as I stay in line with the door frame.

A blurry, closer photo. Some sewing notions, some afghans, mugs and saucers, phone, etc!

I decided to put my stationary in this space rather than mess with etsy right now. I ordered cellophane sleeves from littlepaperthings on etsy to package up my vintage maps, notecards, and more.

I picked up some things at the coolest yard sales ever on Saturday - 4 friends who live in our neighborhood coordinated having yard sales on the same day. They all have GREAT style and taste and it was fun to swing by before ceramics. I bought the kitchen cart you see above and spray painted it gold. I also picked up the painting, the phone, the wire basket the stationery is in, and a blue ashtray that is holding my business cards.

So, there it is! It needs work - I need some things to add more height variation on the shelves. We'll see how it goes...fingers crossed!

If you're in town, you can shop 8th & Argyle Thursdays through Sundays next to Pia's Antiques!

Old School Ceramics: Finished Mantel Clock

Woohoo! It feels good to finish a project. When you go to ceramics for 2 hours every other weekend or so, it can be tough to actually get something finished, but here it is - the mantel clock!

It's a Christmas present for my dad (don't worry- he doesn't own a computer and will never see this so the surprise is definitely not ruined!) and I just need to install the clockworks and then I'll put it up and save it for Christmastime.

I haven't been able to work on the deer anymore, but I brought them home along with some paint and hope to work on them at home!

See more about my time with old-school-ceramics here!

Big Announcement - 8th & Argyle

8thandArgyle

I'm opening a second space! One of my friends (Val from Meretricious) is opening a new boutique called 8th & Argyle with a few partners and I am moving in this weekend into those shelves above! It's just a little experiment to see how it goes - I'm diversifying! :)

There's a soft opening tonight with a grand opening to follow in October. They are open Thursday-Sunday and I will be moving in this Sunday! I'm excited for a new challenge! Come check out 8th & Argyle next to Pia's Antiques on 8th Avenue in Nashville (at the corner of, drumroll please... 8th & Argyle!)
