New Rug for Us!

First - I just want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with those affected by Sandy. I hope everyone is taking precautions to be safe! 


Second - I loved reading everyone's comments yesterday about travel thrifting! I need to go back and answer them! :) 


I have been going through a burst of feeling inspired to decorate! Maybe it's because this is the first month I've had a full paycheck since June, but I feel more willing to spend just a little bit on decorating items.

When I bought the house 6+ years ago, I picked up a bland rug at Wal-mart for about $60. It has been through a lot in the past 6 years and I've really been wanting something new. I had scoured RugsUSA.com to find something I liked and I found it: the Sierra Paddle Rug in gray.

RugsUSA offers free shipping and they're usually running a 35% off coupon code. The 5x8 rug was originally $299 and with 35% off it was going to be right around $200. To me, that still felt like a lot to spend but I had been working some odd jobs and selling random things and felt like I had the "mad money" to "splurge" on a rug.

I visited the site to peruse some more and noticed they were running a SIXTY percent off sale:

Needless to say, I scooped up the rug right away for only $119 - a savings of $181!

I am so excited for it to arrive! I think it will really help our living room* look more pulled together!
